Meet Epiphany
Certified Life Coach/Author, Phlebotomist
I'm Epiphany Wilson, a neuroscience major and biochemistry minor at Spelman College passionate about advancing healthcare through innovation, advocacy, and equity. While my academic foundation began in brain-behavior relationships, neurotrauma, and neurological health disparities, my clinical experiences particularly over 450 hours shadowing cardiac surgery at the University of Florida Health have inspired me to fully shift my career focus to cardiovascular surgery.
I am committed to paving the way for future Spelman students interested in neuroscience, proving that this field can lead to diverse, high-impact specialties in medicine. My work includes research on racial disparities in traumatic brain injury treatment and leading community health initiatives to raise awareness of cardiovascular disease in Black communities.
My ultimate goal is to merge advanced surgical skill with patient-centered care, ensuring that life-saving cardiovascular treatment is accessible to all, and I welcome connections in neuroscience, cardiovascular medicine, surgery, and healthcare advocacy to collaborate and drive change.
